If the LED does not display solid blue within two to five minutes after being connected to power, contact Google Fiber customer support. When it is properly connected, the LED on the front of the Storage Box displays solid blue. It does not need to be near the TV Boxes in your home. The Storage Box is connected to and stacks under the Network Box with an Ethernet cable. It provides 2 TB of storage space, which allows you to store up to 500 hours (combined SD and HD programming) or 300 hours HD-only programming, and connects to the TV Boxes using MoCA or Ethernet. The Storage Box serves as the central storage device for all content that you record from all of your TV Boxes. Its dimensions are 7.5" W x 8" D x 1.7" H. The main reason one would build (or purchase) an NAS device is to back up data. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is a server with a heavy focus on data storage, making it the perfect candidate for a home file server. Box storage allows you to collaborate with others by allowing you to share files and folders. One of the most popular ways to back up data is with an NAS. Your Google Fiber TV service comes with one Google Fiber Storage Box (GFMS100), even if you have more than one TV Box. Box Storage Accounts give you access to unlimited storage.
